Out and About - Assistive Technology: Assessing Needs

Assessing Needs is a welcome addition to the award-winning Out & About series. It looks at the barriers to employment for people with learning difficulties and suggests assistive technology which may reduce or remove those barriers. This user-friendly program can be used by the professional, family carer or the individual with learning difficulties. It is based around over eighty interactive questions concerning Personal Safety, Environment, Health, Mobility and Communication with full
audio support. A useful tutorial to guide you through the assessment is provided as well as the facility to print the assessment reports.

The program is easy to use with set-up for switch users and many other accessibility features available, including the facility to alter, modify and add new questions for the assessor. A clear resource photo bank of existing assistive technology is provided together with a range of useful printable resources to help those not familiar with the use of assistive technology.
